Floral Garden Ceremony Aisle Runner RiverOaks Charleston

Hello, sweet friend!

I’m so excited you’re here! This blog has been a long time coming and I’m just so excited to share the journey of Samantha Anderson Events with y’all! The reason I wanted to start this blog is two-fold.

First, I really wanted a place to share our wedding designs and the process and influences that go into making them come to life. I love sharing our recent weddings and features on Instagram, but feel so limited in the amount of photos we can share on each event and the short caption we have to explain the design and thank all the amazing creatives that made it happen. I really want a place to dive into the details and share more behind the scenes of the creative process.

A positive client experience is one of the founding pillars of Samantha Anderson Events. So, the second reason I wanted to start this blog was to have a space to share our couples’ perspectives of the planning process and their big day. We’re planning with these sweet brides and grooms for a year (sometimes more!); we’re fostering trust and building relationships with them and their families. I think it’ll mean so much to future brides to read their how they felt during the planning process and their thoughts after living one of the best days of their life.

So what better way to kick-off our first blog post ever than by sharing some of our favorite wedding images from over the years! I feel so honored to be a part of every wedding we’re invited to assist with, and these images just bring up so many good memories for me! From where we started to where we are today, it’s been an incredible journey and I just feel so blessed that I get to help couples set the foundation for their marriage and make the planning process just as celebratory as the big day itself!

All-time Favorite Wedding Images

Diamond Engagement Ring Mrs Box Wedding Bands Chris Isham

Janet, my beloved first bride and new mama, will always have a special place in my heart! She was so sweet, intelligent, beautiful, and stylish! I’m not exaggerating when I say that she had the best taste. Just take a look at that stunning engagement ring!! As you can imagine, I wasn’t the least bit surprised that her gorgeous wedding at Glassy Chapel was featured on BRIDES.

Christine and Andrew we’re some of my first clients, too. Every time we went to vendor meetings together to plan for their Hibernian Hall soiree, everyone assumed that Christine and I were sisters! It’s crazy looking back now on that assumption because Christine has become one of my dear friends and truly feels like a sister to me. Soon after she was married, she started South of Libbie, a Charleston based online boutique known for its heirloom-quality monogrammed gifts. I’ve been so grateful that we can support and encourage each other as small business owners!

I love this photo so much that it’s also on the front page of my site! This photo represents what creativity coupled with hard work looks like. We designed, planned, and executed Kaitlyn and Pasha’s wedding at RiverOaks Charleston in less than 6 months. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and we’re so honored that Style Me Pretty published it on their front page.

Charleston Sunset Lowndes Grove Wedding Aaron and Jillian

Okay, so this isn’t technically a “wedding” photo, but it was taken at a wedding! This photo was the first time I worked with Aaron and Jillian and, after working alongside them just once, it totally made sense why everyone (planners, brides, even other photographers!) we’re gushing about them! They are so friendly, talented, and genuinely good people. Of course, you’d want them at your wedding! I remember during our vendor meal they gave me tips on where to visit in Bali (our honeymoon!), so every time I see this photo I remember this beautiful Lowndes Grove wedding, the first time we worked together, and how special our honeymoon was because of their recommendations!

Seeing Katie and Kirk’s reaction as they entered their reception at Boone Hall Cotton Dock was absolutely priceless. We had been planning their wedding for over a year and half, so to see their vision come to fruition on their wedding day, totally left them in awe.

Lindsay had been my right hand gal since I started wedding planning in Charleston. We became best friends through planning and designing weddings and events together. To be able to serve her and her husband by making sure their day was absolutely unforgettable was the biggest honor. She now works as a floral designer at one of our favorite florists, Branch Design Studio.

Beach Editorial Coastal Place Setting

When you push yourself outside of your comfort zone, beautiful things happen. I wanted to challenge myself to reimagine the accustomed look of a beach wedding for an upcoming editorial with Julie Livingston for A Lowcountry Wedding Magazine. The result was a design that was equal parts fresh, romantic, and coastal.

Sarah and I met when I did my first styled shoot ever at her family’s wedding venue, Wingate Plantation. We realized that we were both Delta Zetas in college and had a love for Lilly Pulitzer, so we immediately became fast friends. Her love and encouragement over the years has been imperative to the success of Samantha Anderson Events. I love this shot because it reminds me to slow down, be present, and see the beauty in every day that God has created.

Could Kelly and her bridesmaids be more stunning!? Ava Moore Photography captured this moment just as we were about to send the bridesmaids down the aisle. I love how the calmness, yet excitement that the girls were feeling are preserved in this photo. I absolutely love giving our clients peace of mind on their wedding day, knowing that we have every aspect under control.

Warner’s wedding at The Cotton Dock at Boone Hall was such a fun one to design. She sent me photos of her coastal home decor and a colorful painting by Teil Duncan as the inspiration for her big day. The final product of natural hues with pops of pastels couldn’t be more fitting for this lowcountry venue and Warner and John’s style.

My heart almost burst when Pasha Belman sent me this sneak peak of Kristen and Robert’s wedding at William Aiken House. Two years ago, I planned Kristen’s sister’s, Stephanie, wedding in the mountains of North Carolina at Old Edwards Inn. Fast forward to just a year ago, when Kristen got engaged and decided to hire me to help design and plan her dream wedding at this gorgeous, historic venue in Downtown Charleston. I was so honored to help the Wadsten family plan another unforgettable event for one of their beloved daughters!

I hope you enjoyed some of our favorite photos from weddings that we’ve designed over the years. I wish I could include a photo from all the weddings we’ve done, as they truly are ALL so special to me. Be sure to follow along as I’ll be sharing some insightful interviews with my former brides and lots of photos from their beautiful weddings. Stay tuned, sweet friends!
